COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  • For food safety, quality, and thorough cooking, please follow the instructions below.
  • Keep frozen until ready for use. Fish can be prepared from thawed or frozen. The preferred method is from thawed. To thaw, remove fish from pouch, cover, and refrigerate overnight. To quick thaw, place pouch in cold water for 20 to 30 minutes. Cook fish immediately after thawing.
  • Product is not ready to eat until fully cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F.

CONVENTIONAL OVEN

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Remove fillet(s) from pouch and place in a single layer, not touching, with flat side down on a foil-lined sided baking pan.
  • Place baking pan on middle rack of oven.
  • From thawed: Bake for 15 – 17 minutes (1 to 2 fillets).
  • From frozen: Bake for 28 – 30 minutes (1 to 2 fillets).

GRILL

  • Spray aluminum foil lightly with cooking oil, then place on grill.
  • Preheat grill to MEDIUM-HIGH (350°F – 375°F).
  • Remove fillet(s) from pouch and place in a single layer, not touching, with flat side down on foil.
  • From thawed: Grill for 10 – 15 minutes (1 to 2 fillets)
  • From frozen: Grill for 20 – 25 minutes (1 to 2 fillets)

Product has been deboned, but as with all fish, there is the potential to find small bones. Due to differences in appliances and quantity prepared, cooking times may vary and require adjustment. Microwaving not recommended. Caution-Product will be hot!

STOVETOP

  • Lightly spray or grease nonstick pan with oil.
  • Preheat pan on low-medium heat.
  • Remove fillet(s) from pouch, place flat side down in pan and cover pan.
  • From thawed: Sauté for 10 – 11 minutes (1 or 2 fillets).
  • From frozen: Sauté for 14 -15 minutes (1 or 2 fillets).

HELPFUL COOKING TIPS FOR PERFECT FISH:

  • For bolder flavor, pour all the marinade in the pouch over the fillet before cooking.
  • Fish thickness may affect cooking time. Thoroughly cooked fish will flake with a fork.
  • Skin is left on for added moisture and ease of cooking but can be easily removed with a spatula after the fish is cooked, before serving.

I would and have bought this again

I’ve had this flavor and the bourbon flavor. I love both. I’m on a fixed income so I buy it when it’s bogo at our store. Keep up the good work.

Not crazy about it

I tried this for the first time, and personally didn’t care much for it. The texture and spices were nice, but I wasn’t crazy about the flavor or color of the fish. Maybe I am just not used to keta salmon….think that I usually have coho or sockeye, so it may just be a personal taste choice.

Amazing flavor!

Loved the sauce with a little chili pepper heat. The salmon was perfectly flaky and tender.

Despite looks no flavor

Tried the other flavors of salmon and they were wonderful and convenient. Despite its looks this flavor is not very seasoned. I will not purchase again.

Confusing Box Labeling

I was looking on the box to try and figure out where this “wild” fish originated, wishful thinking with seafood but worth the shot. Instead I found that it is “derived from bioengineering.” Which is it, wild or bioengeneered? The front of the box makes it look like a great, sustainable product, but I’m left with more questions than confidence after getting past that facade.

I’ve been looking at the 4.5 oz. package of Smoked, Peppered Wild Salmon for years and today I finally treated myself. Oh my, it’s as good as it looks. I died and went back to the store to get more.

Tried the Steakhouse Salmon tonight for the first time with potatoes and peas. It was good, quite spicy but if you like your food that way, you should love it.
