Preparation Instructions

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  • For food safety, quality, and thorough cooking, please follow the instructions below.
  • Keep frozen until ready for use. Fish can be prepared from thawed or frozen. The preferred method is from thawed. To thaw, remove fish from pouch, cover, and refrigerate overnight. To quick thaw, place pouch in cold water for 20 to 30 minutes. Cook fish immediately after thawing.
  • Product is not ready to eat until fully cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F.

CONVENTIONAL OVEN

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Remove fillet(s) from pouch and place in a single layer, not touching, with flat side down on a foil-lined sided baking pan.
  • Place baking pan on middle rack of oven.
  • From thawed: Bake for 15 – 18 minutes (1 to 2 fillets).
  • From frozen: Bake for 28 – 32 minutes (1 to 2 fillets).

GRILL

  • Spray aluminum foil lightly with cooking oil, then place on grill.
  • Preheat grill to MEDIUM-HIGH (350°F – 375°F).
  • Remove fillet(s) from pouch and place in a single layer, not touching, with flat side down on foil.
  • From thawed: Grill for 10 – 15 minutes (1 to 2 fillets)
  • From frozen: Grill for 20 – 25 minutes (1 to 2 fillets)

Product has been deboned, but as with all fish, there is the potential to find small bones. Due to differences in appliances and quantity prepared, cooking times may vary and require adjustment. Microwaving not recommended. Caution-Product will be hot!

HELPFUL COOKING TIPS FOR PERFECT FISH:

  • For bolder flavor, pour all the marinade in the pouch over the fillet before cooking.
  • Fish thickness may affect cooking time. Thoroughly cooked fish will flake with a fork.

Highly recommend the absolutely delicious cod!

We’re so pleased with Morey’s salmon that we wanted to try the cod … it is perfection – so tender, moist, delicious – highest-quality, and the flavourful seasoning is absolutely wonderful. It’s so easy, very quick – fool-proof preparation for a restaurant-quality meal at home – at a fraction of the cost. Thank you for such superb, extraordinary seafood products.

Eye Heart Fish

Very Happy with My Purchase

Was planning on baking the fish, but when I opened the box to find two individually packed, vacuum sealed fillets, two words came to mind… Sous Vide So I cooked both fillets, totally ignoring the instructions on the box, and they turned out awesome. So, while sous-vide may be a flash in the pan (pun intended) cooking method, it might behoove a company which claims to offer ‘Fine Fish &Seafood’ to test this method, and include the instructions on the box. Advertising their products as such may actually boost sales with the more elite clientele. Or not. Just a thought.

No I wouldn’t buy this product again

Baked 2 pieces of your cod one was very flaky and moist the other piece seemed water logged. I’m giving you a strange description but it’s the only one that truly describes the second piece. Also it looks like ie never cooked it looked translucent. I baked both for 20 minutes at 350.

Can you use a boil bag technique for cooking?

Actually, we did this, but i was looking for someone else who may have done the same thing. Easy, quick and no mess.

Not 100% certain

I am new to grilling fish so I did overcook it, but there was not much flavor to it, I like thinner pieces of fish, one that I had was thin the other thicker. I would like to try it again when I don’t overcook it to be honest with my review.

Amazing freshness!
